How It All Started

The Palmpress was conceived by friend and designer, Jess Tully, a coffee lover who believes that a coffee product should be more beautiful, less wasteful, and made with better materials. Most of all, Jess was on the hunt for the perfect cup of coffee. Searching for a brewing system that completely avoids plastic leaching and the wasete of single-use products, Jess realized there was a market in need of a perfect system.

The Filter is the Brain

The Brain within the Palmpress is its most distinguishing design factor. We tested every filter on the market when deciding between an etched stainless steel filter vs. finely woven stainless mesh. During brew testing, we felt the woven mesh imparted a flavour to the coffee that wasn’t there with an etched disc. We The quality of the brew is dependent on the Brain, earning it the honorable name.

An extra filter, made of stainless steel, lives within the filter and it’s made up of small - as small as could possibly be manufactured - cone-shaped hole patterned to efficiently direct the brew into a delicious 8oz cup of coffee. The directionality and hole sizes give quicker brewing, less sediment, and a better product.
